All of our DIY Cheese kits come with enough ingredients to make 6 separate batches of cheese. You just need two litres of milk (the higher the fat, the better the cheese), a pot, and thermometer, the kit contains the rest. UrbanSteading began when founder, Trisha Morris, was trying to find ingredients for making cheese at home. Not being able to find what she wanted, she ended up ordering large quantities of ingredients from a local cheese manufacturer. In order to use all the ingredients she gifted some to friends with instructions for making simple fresh cheeses. From there the DIY Cheese Kits were born.
After a year of selling cheese kits and starter cultures for yogurt/sourdough, the idea formed to continue with more DIY homesteading kits and teaching the skills that Trisha used every day in her own home.
Now in their third year of business they are quickly expanding into all areas of homesteading, including traditional handcrafts, such as spinning and knitting.
