Hidden Okanagan

The Okanagan is one of Canada’s treasures – beautiful scenery, loads of great outdoor activities (ski in the morning and golf the afternoon), festivals galore, and some of Canada’s very best vineyards.  Meyer Family Vineyards – this month’s Hidden Gems wine subscription feature AND the perfect pairing for our June CHEF’S BOX full of all BC vendors and recipes from Hawksworth Restaurant – is a personal favourite of the FoodiePages team.

It’s sometimes difficult to share your hidden local spots – after all, if you tell too many people, they won’t be hidden treasures for long; however, we eked out a few favourites from the MFV team, just in case you’re in the Okanagan this summer.  Let us know what you think!

MFV Peach CliffMost romantic spotPeach Cliff is a great intermediate hike and has great views of Skaha Lake and Vaseaux Lake … it’s quite romantic at the top, and there’s a beautiful gold fish pond as well.

MFV KVRBest fun for the family – Biking the KVR (that’s the Kettle Valley Railway for all you non-locals) trail or soaking up the sun at Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls …. Followed by ice cream at Tickleberry’s!

And, you can find the Meyer Family Vineyards tasting room at 4287 McLean Creek Rd, Okanagan Falls.  It’s open 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week from April through October.

FoodiePages has a small and curated selection of BC wineries – especially great for those of us living East of BC, where getting these high quality gems is none too easy.  And if you buy a case, shipping works out to about $2/bottle.  Don’t miss out on this month’s Hidden Gems (a great way to try out a selection of BC and Ontario wineries each month), or put together your own picks from Meyer Family Vineyards award winning options.
