October CHEF'S BOX Theme: A Mexican Inspired Dinner
Eugenio Salas grew up on a dairy farm in Mexico, helping his grandfather deliver milk before school. He developed a passion for food and, on moving to Canada, created his own line of Slow Cooking Sauces. Rossana Ascencio and her partner Veronica founded Original Mexican Gourmet, fine gourmet products, inspired by authentic Mexican recipes, and traditionally handcrafted using the finest ingredients. Together, Eugenio and Rossana will help you explore Mexican cuisine in a new way!
The October Chef’s Box includes:
Hibiscus Dried Loose Flowers (155g) from YOMM Beverage (Winnipeg MB) – Steep for a delicious hot or iced tea drink.
Roasted Green Cilantro and Tomatillo MILD Salsa (250mL) from Las Salsas (Winnipeg MB) – A versatile salsa that can be used as a dip, or to flavour slow cooked dishes such as chicken.
Mexican Adobo (500mL) from Slow Cooking Sauces (London ON) - Eugenio has created a line of simmering sauces, influenced from Mexico’s long tradition of slow cooking.
Honey Garlic Mustard (60mL) from Au Coeur de la pomme (Frelighsburg QC) - Perfect for basting ham or grilled meats, enhancing sandwiches (including a Mexican Torta) or salad dressings.

How does the CHEF'S BOX™ monthly food club work?
- Pick a subscription plan, either 1 month (a single box), prepaid 3 or 6 months (or quarterly), or a monthly recurring order (subsequent months are billed on the 22nd day of every month and cancellable on 30 days notice - just log into your account to monitor shipments or cancel).
- Order any time during the month and your first CHEF'S BOX™ will be shipped by the 15th day of the month following (ex. order January 22nd and your first box ships by February 15th; order June 2nd and your first box ships by July 15th)
- Pay a flat monthly fee for Expedited Parcel shipping (see Shipping Terms for more detail).
- For gifts, put the recipient's name and address in the Special Instruction box of the checkout (note: only one shipping address per order).
