Each monthly CHEF'S BOX™ is organized around a theme and includes 5-8 full-sized artisan food products from emerging Canadian makers, as well as recipes and cooking tips from a top Canadian tastemaker. It's kitchen inspiration, delivered straight to your mailbox!

October CHEF'S BOX Theme: Quebec's Emerging Food Makers

This month we focus on Quebec, where there is an abundance of creativity in the maker community and the dining scene. One of our long-time favourite brunch spots has been Olive + Gourmando in Old Montreal. Go early to get a spot at this foodie destination, with amazing breads and pastries, and delicious panini and salads. Owner Dyan Solomon shares the famous O+G Salad recipe, as well as the Espresso Brownies, along with these 5 favourite local products.

Garlic Flower Mustard made by Simon Turcotte. All of the products from Simon Turcotte are handmade, with mostly local ingredients, cooked 4 kilograms at a time. They use only cane sugar, and no preservatives or artificial flavourings. This mustard is a particular favourite.

Wildflower Honey from Miels d’Anicet. Anicet and Anne-Virginie are two honey-crazed epicurean artisan farmers who are involved in developing a honey culture, challenging the idea that honey is a homogeneous product that leaves little room for surprise! Look no further for perhaps the best honey produced in Quebec.

Spicy Nuts made by O+G.  An assortment of roasted and candied butter nuts with house-made chili spice mix creates a perfectly balanced combination of spicy, sweet, and salty flavours.  

Apple Cider Vinegar made by Au Coeur de la pomme. This family business produces a dozen varieties of apples , and makes an old-fashioned cider vinegar, aged in oak casks, and a variety of homemade jams, jellies, condiments and other tantalizing preserves.  

Haïti Pisa 70% Bar made by Palette de Bine. Owner Christine is passionate about small batch chocolate, with a focus on quality and simplicity. For her extraordinary efforts, she was awarded a Gold and a Silver at the World International Chocolate Awards in 2016.

How does the CHEF'S BOX™ monthly food club work?
  1. Pick a subscription plan, either 1 month (a single box), prepaid 3 or 6 months (or quarterly), or a monthly recurring order (subsequent months are billed on the 22nd day of every month and cancellable on 30 days notice - just log into your account to monitor shipments or cancel).
  2. Order any time during the month and your first CHEF'S BOX™ will be shipped by the 15th day of the month following (ex. order January 22nd and your first box ships by February 15th; order June 2nd and your first box ships by July 15th)
  3. Pay a flat monthly fee for Expedited Parcel shipping (see Shipping Terms for more detail).
  4. For gifts, put the recipient's name and address in the Special Instruction box of the checkout (note: only one shipping address per order).
