The Dark Tickle Company is located in Griquet, on the Great Northern Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. We manufacture jams, spreads, sauces, tea, and other products from unique wild berries. These berries, picked by hand, are carefully processed without additives, resulting in a quality product that is both distinctive and delicious.
The Dark Tickle offers a taste of the unique handpicked wild berries of Newfoundland and Labrador: bakeapple (cloudberry), partridgeberry (lingonberry), wild blueberry, squashberry and crowberry. As wild products from a remote location, they are free of the various chemicals nearly always associated with cultivated products. And, we use no additives or preservatives during our cooking and preserving.
We purchase from a network of approximately 100 individual pickers, covering a large area including the top half of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, the coastal regions of southern Labrador, and northeastern Quebec. We employ a relatively small number of people involved in processing. Our plant is registered with and inspected by Agriculture Canada.
You might wonder where our name comes from? A ”˜tickle’ is a narrow salt water channel. It is also the area in Griquet where we were originally located - it's the picture on our labels. And it's 'dark' as it is surrounded by high hills.
Orders are generally shipped within 24 hours of receipt. Boxes are amply sized and your items are well protected. We promote environmentally responsible business practices and use recycled materials for shipping.
Order Cancellation and Alteration Policy:
Once you have placed your order, you may not cancel it or alter it, unless we agree. If you need to cancel your order or change your delivery address, contact us at 709-623-2354 and if we have not shipped your order, we will try to accommodate your request.
Refund and Return Policy:
We want you to be 100% satisfied with your order. If the product arrives undamaged and does not meet your expectations, we will replace or refund the product cost, provided you have contacted Foodie Pages customer support at firstname.lastname@example.org within 2 days of receipt of your order and you have complied with any return of unused product that we have asked of you. We are not responsible for: deliveries damaged from shipping; incomplete or inaccurate delivery addresses; nor recipients not being at the delivery address to receive delivery.
If your delivery was damaged due to shipment, please contact Foodie Pages customer support immediately at email@example.com upon receipt of your order.
