• When Kyle Wilson went traveling in Africa, he and his wife Katie were drawn to the cocoa fields. They both had a background in the coffee industries as baristas, but wanted to travel the world, and bring something special back with them to Canada. What they found was an opportunity for FairTrade cocoa, and ethically sourced, bean-to-bar chocolate in Toronto.

'Lodge' All Natural Wax Candle // Lares Candle Co.

• From watching his grandmother make candles for church, to working for a luxury candle company in London, founder Mihail finally settled in Canada in 2018 and opened Lares Candle Co. Made of all-natural wax and fragrances, his candles are hand-poured in small batches. This 'Lodge' candle is a smoky blend of cognac, pine needles and sandalwood.  10% of candle sales support local charities.

Shortbread Cookies // Cookie It Up

• Paige launched Cookie It Up at 21 years old as a way to find a summer job with the belief that cookies could be better than what was available. Thirty years later, Paige handed the reins to Shane, who today operates the business along with his family. All Cookie It Up creations continue to be crafted in small batches with premium local ingredients and no preservatives.
