Crafted in the traditional French Champagne method, Brilliant is lively, elegant and beautifully balanced. 30 months lees contact, hand riddled, disgorged and labelled at Westcott’s winery by Grant Westcott & winemaker Casey Kulcyk. 2500 bottles were hand crafted in 2017 and every few months the Westcott’s release a new batch of this labour-of-love sparkling wine.

The spring and summer of 2017 saw significant rainfall, especially through July and August. Hail also presented a problem for wineries on the Beamsville bench. However, September was a very pleasant month with unusually warm, dry days that continued into October. Given the late season warm temperatures, ripening of grapes continued well into October with some processing occurring in November. Overall, 2017 was a good vintage for wineries in Niagara. The early weather problems did slow the growing process at the start of the season, however, ideal temperatures and conditions later towards harvest quickly brought the grapes to ideal ripeness. Expect the 2017 vintage to display a cool climate style wine with fresh acidity and bright fruit.
